The idea about human swans seems pretty interesting and I like the idea behind this book. But as whole, this book is not as good as I expected. It's not bad, it was nice to read, but I don't think this book was particulary memorable. I can't really pinpoint it, but something was missing. Maybe I was missing something "magical". I mean that ok, there are human swans, but what can they do? Can they fly? No. Can they maybe sing really good? No. Is there anything magical about them? No. They just are. And if you steal their feathers, they're bound to you.
There are some pieces that reminded me of Swan Lake and The Wild Swans. And I believe that the author has got at least some inspiration from them. And like the synopsis says, there are little bit of Cinderella in a mix. But I really wanted to know more about those human swans. Somekind of backstory or explanation.
There are also a lot of cliches. Poor girl, rich guy, kidnapping, dead mom, alcoholic dad, lazy sister etc.Just I think that if you don't overanalyze this book you can really enjoy it. It was pretty average, but not every book can be great. It was nice Sunday reading book.

The first thing a noticed about this book (obviously) was the cover. I love it. It was the first thing that made me want to read this book. And then I started to read the book. The beginning was great, I loved the story and idea behind this book and I thought it was really promising.
English isn't my first language, so I'm not really sure if understood everything correctly, but there were some things that kinda didn't make sense. Like the fact that first they say that there are cameras everywhere and they need to be really careful what so say or how to act, so the cameras don't catch them. And then suddenly Kaitlin and Lucas are kissing in a middle of the yard? Right. So nobody sees them, but then next time when they are sitting and talking under the tree, the guard comes almost immedialy 'cos they are in a blindspot and they can't see them. There few other times too, when I got the feeling that things didnät make sense, if you know what I mean..
What the first half of the book was really good if you can forget those things. And the truth is that almost every book has some "mistakes", so I can forgive. But I think that the other half of the book wasn't as good. The story progressed too fast and it felt pretty rushed. There weren't enought details and the book felt like it wasn't really finished. Like the first half was finished and the ending only a draft. There were so much potential and the book could have been great, but it wasn't "polished" enought.
The ending was kinda lame, everything was too easy for Kaitlin and Lucas. I can't really imagine that any multimillionare (or billionare) changing his mind so fast. First he spends millions and millions to this project and then he just changes his mind about it.
But I'm not losing my hope. I know that there are next book coming and I hope that it will be more "prefessionaly" written and maybe little more polished. The story and idea is really great and there is so much potential, it just need a little bit more polishing.

The book was fine and sometimes even entertaining. It was nice light reading, if you don't want to think too much.
I think that I was a little bit too old for this book. I'm 24 and I think that I would have enjoyd this book much more if I'd read it ten years ago. There was too much little things that bothered me and too much clichees that I didn't like too much. Like the whole Rayne's goth-thing, Bertha the Slayer, etc..
So I think that this is it for me. I think that I won't read the next book. There are too many great books out there, so I'm not going to waste my time with this series.

I've read a lot of bad reviews about this book and most of them I understand. I understand why people don't like this book, 'cos there are lot of clichees. The characters are sometimes so stupid and naive that you hope that you could smack them in the head. But I liked the book. It was sometimes stupid, yes, and were lot of things that made you angry. And it wasn't ever nearly realistic. But this is a book. It's allowed to non-realistic.
Sometimes the writing was just bad, but I liked the story. There were lot of details that were stupid, but the idea behind the book was nice and I liked it. I'm not really picky and there aren't lot of books that I don't like. And I absolutely love there "doomed" love stories and bad boys. ♥ And there were lot of moments when I hoped that I could draw. There amazing scenes that I imagined in my head, they would be lovely fanart. If only I could draw.
And I absolutely love the cover. Black roses ♥
